Triple Connections Unlimited

Free Connections 3×3-style practice from Triple Connections. Choose an original nine-word board by theme and difficulty, or practice without a mistake limit.

Triple Connections

Nine words. Three groups. Think sideways.

MAKE A CONNECTION
00:00

Find three groups of three connected words.

0 / 3 groups4 mistakes remaining

How to play & helpful hints

Select three words that share a specific connection, then submit. A correct group reveals its category and explanation. A wrong group costs one mistake; “One away” means two selected words belong together. Repeating the same wrong guess does not cost another mistake.

Daily and Unlimited allow four mistakes. Practice has unlimited mistakes. Category hints reveal one unsolved category title at a time, without revealing its words; using a hint is recorded in your result. Daily resets at midnight New York time.

More 3×3 Connections-style puzzles, whenever you want

Triple Connections Unlimited removes the daily waiting period. Every board gives you nine words, three hidden groups and four mistakes. Choose another board when you finish, or switch to Practice to work through an unfamiliar category without the mistake limit.

Use themes and difficulty to practice deliberately

  1. Pick a theme. Leave the theme filter open for variety, or narrow the board pool to a subject you enjoy.
  2. Set the difficulty. Easy boards are a useful starting point; harder boards ask you to consider less obvious meanings and word relationships.
  3. Read all nine words before submitting. A familiar pair can be a distraction. Look for a third member and a possible home for the remaining six.
  4. Read every revealed explanation. Learn the actual category rather than memorizing the tile positions.

Unlimited play uses a finite authored board bank. There is no daily cap, but boards can recur after you have played through a filtered pool. Shuffle rearranges the current words; it does not create a new puzzle.

What to do after a “One away” message

A “One away” guess still costs a mistake. It confirms that two selected words share an intended category, but does not tell you which two. Reconsider the category, then change one choice for a reason. Our worked 3×3 strategy guide shows how to test a category against all nine words.

Share a board or return to the daily challenge

The result card includes a link to that board, so a friend can solve the same categories without an account. Your local progress is separate from theirs. For the shared date-based puzzle, open Triple Connections Daily; for a different skill, try unlimited five-round word clues.
